Is Sharapova the Next Kournikova?

A bit sad for Maria's avid fans at tennis but they have to understand that Maria has also her own life, she has all the right and privileges to do the things that makes her happy.

I agree with this but I think we have to respect Anna and Maria's choice. They do it for some good reason's I suppose. If Maria will continue to excel in the court then lets support her and if she's gonna spend more time doing commercials and attending fashion shows again it would be pretty nice if we still support her.

Yes Sharapova and Kournikova do have lots in common. But it's not too late for Maria to change the direction of her career. If she will focus mainly at playing tennis I am sure she will go further than what she have achieved. The ball is in her court really.

I am not against with whatever direction Maria will follow but I hope she won't stay away from playing tennis as she is one of the most well liked ICON in the tennis sports. As her avid fan I will always look forward to her winning grand slams…:)

well that's life… sometimes you have to pursue things sometimes you have to let go of it. what matters most is that you have given your best. Maria and Ana has never been the greatest of all time but I believe both of them had given their best shot!

As fans of tennis sport, let's just be happy for Maria and Anna's choices in life! Even if both of them couldn't win grand slam anymore, I hope they would still continue to play tournaments along with the purpose of helping other people.

Shooting commercials pays a lot I suppose. We cannot blame Anna if she preferred doing commercials than playing tennis in front of thousands of audiences.

As for me I'd go for commercial modeling job, if I could do them altogether that would be great and I'd prefer working on both careers at the same time. Maria is trying to grab all the opportunities that comes her way. That is not a bad decision at all.

the latest update I had about Anna was her trip with the USO to Afghanistan, Iraq and Germany.I am not sure if she is still active at tennis these days. I look forward to reading news about her.

Well Maria and Sasha are still dating as they were at Indian Wells tournament. They really look so sweet. I hope Maria's relationship with Sasha will remain strong and hopefully it would never last.

In my own opinion I think Maria and Anna are both happy with the kind of path they pursue. Good thing for them as they both excel in tennis, fashion shows and commercial modeling.
